Schenectady Steps toward Peace

  • What: Schenectady Steps for Peace, a Creative Change Makers project led by Mati Hackett (MO#36) in support of the ONE Schenectady movement, invites community members to gather for a series of Peace Walks.  
    Monday June 22- Peace Walk from Lady Liberty to City Hall.  This gathering is intended to offer a collective pause, an opportunity to ground our city government and civic life in peace, love and understanding to the City Hall Rotunda. All are welcome  to attend, reflect, and walk together in the spirit of unity, compassionate engagement, and co-creative power also create Blissful Peace in our City & beyond.

This newsletter exists to make local government more accessible and engaging for the community.

  • These Peace Walks come from the same contemplative tradition as the Buddhist Monks' Walk for Peace.  

  • When & Where:  
    Monday, June 22, we will gather by 6:15 PM on Monday at Liberty Park in Gateway Plaza, by the Lady Liberty Statue. This gathering will include a brief, grounding meditation followed by a mindful ~15 minute walk to Schenectady City Hall, and a mindful moment in the rotunda at 6:45 in advance of the scheduled 7:00 PM City Council Meeting.
