Richard Mausert - Vice President

Rick comes to the Board in the hopes of helping us to build on the work done so far. He provides an additional skill set to the talented folks on our Board along with value for our membership. He has been in Food retail for over 47 years spending 41 years with Price Chopper Supermarkets and six years at Honest Weight Food Coop.

Why did you join the team at the Electric City Food Co-Op?
I have enjoyed working with the Board for over 5 years trying to help them to achieve the opening of a Food Coop in Schenectady. After retiring from Honest Weight in 2021 I have been able to be more involved. Food Coops are great at providing locally sourced foods and build real communities. I'm excited that there is real momentum now and decided to step up and join the Board in hopes we can make this store a reality.

What excites you about Schenectady?
Working with the Electric City Board, Local Leaders there is a real energy to do good for our City. A full service food store for downtown would be a great additional to the growth in the City we have seen. Bringing more people into our downtown will have positive results and a great resource for the community.
