Board Member

Miriam Cajuste

Miriam Cajuste is a Human Rights Commissioner with the Schenectady Human Rights Commission and the Commission’s representative on the Schenectady Civilian Police Review Board. She serves as Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Schenectady Community Action Program (SCAP) and member of the board for Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County. She is a graduate of Touro College with an M.S. in Finance, International Business and an MBA from the University at Albany, SUNY. Professionally Miriam is a HR Consultant for small and mid-size Restaurants and an Adjunct Professor at Schenectady County Community College.

In her spare time she creates artisan soap and other body care products. In 2022, she took up woodworking and has been making pens and other writing utensil under the tutelage of Rorick, her friend. Annually, she travels with the International Non Profit “Touching lives” delivering needed medical care to adults and children in the Caribbean and South America. She enjoys spending time with her many siblings, nieces, and nephews. Miriam is excited to serve on the ECFC Board of Directors and looks forward to working with board members bringing healthy food to the community.
